- 3 cups puffed rice (murmura)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 sprig curry leaves (optional)
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 1 small tomato (finely chopped)
- 2–3 green chilies (chopped) or red chili powder as preferred
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt as per taste
- Roasted peanuts – ¼ cup
- Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
- Fresh coriander leaves – chopped
Step-by-Step Murmura Snacks Recipe
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
- When they splutter, add curry leaves, green chilies, and chopped onions.
- Sauté for 2–3 minutes until onions soften.
- Add tomatoes, turmeric, and salt. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add murmura and mix well so the spices coat evenly.
- Toss for 2–3 minutes on low flame to keep it crisp.
- Turn off the flame, add roasted peanuts, coriander, and lemon juice.
- Mix gently and serve warm.
