Navratri Day 4 2025: The nine-day festival of Shardiya Navratri began on September 22 and will end on October 2 with Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra. Who is Maa Kushmanda?

Maa Kushmanda is the fourth form of Goddess Durga, and her name comes from the combination of three words—Ku meaning small, Ushma meaning energy, and Anda meaning cosmic egg. She is believed to be the creator of the universe with her divine smile. Riding a lioness, she has eight hands holding lotus, kamandal, bow, arrow, amrit kalash, japa mala, gada, and chakra. She is also called Ashtabhuja Devi and is worshipped as the goddess of the Anahata, or Heart Chakra.

The Abhijit Muhurat falls between 11:47 AM to 12:35 PM. The Vijaya Muhurat is between 02:12 PM to 03:00 PM. Devotees can choose any of these timings for the rituals and prayers.

Puja Vidhi for Maa Kushmanda

On this day, devotees begin the rituals with kalash sthapana and decorate the place of worship with flowers. They offer fruits, sweets, and yellow-colored items to Maa Kushmanda.
