Banaras Hindu University (BHU) meteorologist Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava has informed that a low-pressure area is forming in the Bay of Bengal, due to which heavy rains may start in many parts of Uttar Pradesh from July 25. This rain will remain effective for the next 3 to 4 days.

According to the report released on Sunday, 25 mm of rain was recorded in BHU, 7 mm in Basti, 3.4 mm in Sultanpur and 0.3 mm in Fursatganj. The maximum temperature in Fatehgarh was 36.8 ° C, while Kanpur recorded 35.7 ° C, Moradabad 36 ° C, Varanasi 34.7 ° C, Prayagraj 34.8 ° C, and Jhansi also recorded 34.8 ° C.

Thunderstorm and lightning warnings have been issued in many districts of Bihar along with torrential rains. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rains may occur in north and south-eastern Rajasthan on 21 and 22 July. There is also a possibility of rain in Punjab and Haryana, which will provide relief to the fields and cool the atmosphere.

The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Red Alert’ in the Kumaon region. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar. Apart from this, torrential rains may also occur in districts like Tehri, Pauri and Pithoragarh. People have been advised to remain alert due to the possibility of landslides in hilly areas.
