IMD Weather Update July 14-19: Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall Expected Across India, Including Delhi-NCR

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rains in many states of the country from July 14 to July 19, 2025.

Clouds will wreak havoc in Delhi-NCR again

The unseasonal showers in the capital Delhi on Sunday gave relief to the people from the humid weather, but according to the Meteorological Department, this relief can turn into a strong warning in the next few hours. According to the IMD, dense clouds coming from the south-east direction can bring rain with thunder and lightning in the capital in the next few days. On Monday too, the sky will remain cloudy throughout the day and moderate rain is expected. The maximum temperature may remain around 33 degrees and the minimum around 26 degrees Celsius.

Heavy rain is also expected in North-West India

Very heavy rain is expected in parts of East Rajasthan and West Rajasthan on 14th and 15th July. At the same time, heavy rains may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh from 14th to 17th July. This rain may continue in Uttarakhand from 14th to 19th July. Heavy showers of rain may also be seen in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on 14th July.

In Uttar Pradesh too, rain is expected in the western parts on 14th, 17th and 18th July, while the eastern parts may receive rain from 15th to 18th July. There is a warning of very heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh on 16th July.

Weather will be pleasant in East and Central India

States like East and West Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand are likely to receive rain between July 13 and 19. Heavy rain is also expected at some places in areas like Vidarbha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, West Bengal and Sikkim. There may be rain with thunder and lightning in all these areas, which is likely to affect life.

Parts of Western India are also expected to receive rain

Konkan and Goa, Ghat areas of Central Maharashtra and Saurashtra and Kutch areas of Gujarat will witness rain on July 13 and 14. Heavy and very heavy rains may occur in the Gujarat region from July 13 to 16.
