At this time in Himachal Pradesh, rain is not just a part of the weather but has become a major disaster. Due to heavy rains, incidents like landslides, floods and breaking of roads are constantly coming to the fore. On Tuesday night, a landslide on the Paonta Sahib-Shilai-Gumma National Highway caused a traffic jam, due to which heavy vehicles were stranded there overnight. However, small vehicles are being sent through alternative routes.

Rivers in Bihar and Jharkhand are in a spate, flood-like situation

Bihar and Jharkhand received torrential rains on Wednesday, and the situation is likely to remain serious even today. Due to continuous rains, four people drowned in the flood in the Gaya district, out of which two bodies have been recovered. The water level of the rivers is continuously rising, due to which roads have been broken at many places, and the pressure on the dams is increasing. The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy rain for the next 24 hours.

Weather Update: Heavy rain is expected in many districts of Uttar Pradesh

Heavy rains occurred in many districts of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. There will be a change in the weather in Delhi-NCR today. Strong winds are likely at some places along with light to moderate rain. This will bring a slight drop in temperature and may provide relief from humidity.

Meteorological department alert in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand too

There is a threat of landslides and floods due to heavy rains in the Himalayan regions. Heavy rains and snowfall are expected in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir between July 17 and 23. The Meteorological Department has advised people to avoid travelling in hilly areas and landslide-prone areas.

Rivers and streams may overflow due to heavy rains at some places in Uttarakhand, too. The local administration is on alert, and SDRF teams are also active.

The next 24 hours are important for Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, North Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman Nicobar. These states may receive light to moderate rain with heavy rain at some places.

At the same time, the situation will remain serious in the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. If you live in these areas or are planning a trip, keep an eye on the weather forecast and avoid unnecessary travel.
