Saiyaara: If you are also among those who think that a film cannot run without heavy promotion, then Mohit Suri’s new film ‘Saiyaara’ will prove you wrong. Without any press conference, interview or promotional events, this film is spreading such magic in the theatres that everyone is surprised.

An emotional connection was made even before the release, and promotion was not necessary

Mohit Suri adopted a different approach for this film. Just like he did with the 2013 hit film ‘Aashiqui 2’, he repeated the same with ‘Saiyaara’. He deliberately did not introduce the lead pair to the media before the release, so that the audience feels their chemistry on screen to be fresh and real. And this is what happened.

Ahaan Pandey has made his screen debut with ‘Saiyaara’, while this is Anit Paddha’s first film. Anit received a lot of appreciation in the Prime Video series named ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ last year. The simplicity and performance of this new pair have won the hearts of the audience.

Romance won the hearts of the audience once again

It was believed for a long time that the era of romantic films is over. But the tremendous success of ‘Saiyaara’ has proved that a true story and a film made with honesty can still draw the audience to the theatre. It has surpassed films like ‘Maalik’ (₹ 23.27 crores), ‘Deva’ (₹ 33.97 crores), ‘Maa’ (₹ 38.51 crores) and ‘The Diplomat’ (₹ 40.73 crores) in just two days.

Not only this, it has also surpassed the box office collections of ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ re-release (₹ 22.04 crores) and ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ (₹ 35.55 crores). This proves that the audience has again started connecting with the depth of love, emotions and relationships.

Without an interview, without questions and answers, only the story of the film won hearts

Director Mohit Suri told in an interview that he deliberately kept his actors away from the media, because during promotions, the talk is often more about the actors’ personal life or funny anecdotes from the set than the film. According to him, “Unless an actor has a story of his own to tell, such questions and answers are meaningless.” This is why he let the film speak for itself – and the audience listened.

Now, eyes on the 100 crore club

After earning ₹ 45 crore in just two days, now ‘Saiyaara’ is rapidly moving towards the ₹ 100 crore club. If this film continues at this pace, then it can break many big records in the coming weeks. The special thing is that this success has come at a time when the condition of big stars and high-budget films has also been bad at the box office.
