GATE Exam 2026: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level entrance examination conducted for candidates seeking admission to M.Tech, M.E., Ph.D. and other postgraduate programs in top engineering institutes and universities across India. GATE 2026 Application Fee

GATE 2026 application fee details are as follows:

For one paper (regular period):

  • Female / SC / ST / PwD candidates – ₹1000
  • All other candidates – ₹2000

For one paper (late period):

  • Female / SC / ST / PwD candidates – ₹1500
  • All other candidates – ₹2500

If a candidate chooses to appear for an additional paper, the same fee is applicable for each paper.

Here are the following steps to apply online for GATE:-

  1. Visit the official GATE 2026 website.
  2. Click on the New Registration option appear on the homepage.
  3. Register as a new candidate by entering your name, email ID, mobile number and other basic details.
  4. Upon registration, you’ll receive a unique Enrollment ID (or Registration ID) and password, sent to the registered email/mobile.
  5. Log in using the enrollment ID and password.
  6. Fill the application form with personal, academic and communication details.
  7. Select your preferred GATE paper and exam city choices.
  8. Upload scanned copies of your photo, signature and other required certificates in the prescribed format.
  9. Review all the details carefully and pay the application fee online.
  10. Now submit the application form and take a printout of your application.

  • Visit the official website of GATE 2026.
  • Click on the “Candidate Login” link appears on the homepage.
  • Enter your Enrollment ID/Email ID and Password.
  • Solve the captcha and click on the Login button.
  • Go to the Admit Card section in your dashboard.
  • Click on the Download Admit Card option.
  • The admit card will appear on the screen, verify all the details carefully.
  • Download your admit card and take a printout for exam day.
