Metro In Dino: When a film has an experienced director like Anurag Basu attached to its name and it has big stars like Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan and Anupam Kher, then expectations start touching the sky. People think that this film will not only be strong in story but will also rock the box office.

After initial expectations, there was a huge drop on the fourth day

The film may have started with a positive graph, but by the fourth day, the pace of Metro In Dino suddenly slowed down. On the first day, this film raised a ray of hope by earning ₹ 4.05 crores. On the second and third day, this graph went up further, where good earnings of ₹ 6.81 crores and ₹ 7.79 crores were recorded. But on the fourth day, the film was able to collect only ₹ 2.75 crores. That is, there was a drop of about 32% compared to the third day, which raises questions on the future of this film.

Total earnings so far and situation in comparison to the budget

The total net earnings of four days have reached ₹ 21.40 crores, while the gross earnings are being reported to be around ₹ 25.25 crores. But when the budget of the film is as big as ₹ 85 crores, then only 25% recovery is really considered worrying. Both the producers and the audience were expecting a lot from this film, but now questions are being raised whether this film will be able to recover its cost or not.

Only 25% recovery, a difficult way ahead

At present, this film has got the next few days at the ticket window because it will have a big clash with Son Of Sardaar 2 on July 25. If Metro In Dino has to stay at the box office and move towards profit, then it will have to pick up pace again in the next few days. Word of mouth and social media reviews can prove to be very important for this.

Beat many films, but the destination is still far

Interestingly, despite the slow pace, this film has left behind Sonu Sood’s Fateh (₹ 18.87 crores) and Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency (₹ 20.48 crores) in terms of earnings. Now its next target is to surpass the earnings of ₹ 22.04 crores of the re-release version of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. But if Metro In Dino has to be included in the list of top 10 Bollywood films of the year 2025, then it will have to cross the limit of at least ₹ 40.73 crores, which seems difficult at the current pace.

Will Metro make a comeback these days

Now the question arises whether this film will be able to catch its falling pace again? Will the pair of Aditya and Sara be able to pull the audience to the theatres again? The answers to all these questions will be revealed in the coming weeks. The story, music and acting of the actors are good, but in today’s time, these three things alone are not enough. To be successful at the box office, along with the story, the trust of the audience and continuous interest are also necessary.
