The Meteorological Department has issued red and yellow alerts in states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Bihar. That is, it has now become necessary to be alert.

Pleasant weather in Delhi, but it is important to be cautious

The people of Delhi have welcomed the rain with open arms. While on one hand the temperature has dropped, on the other hand the weather has become pleasant. According to the IMD, the capital will continue to receive intermittent rains till July 17, which will also include thunder and lightning.

Light rain in South India, humidity still in some areas

Light rains have been predicted in Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, which may continue for the next seven days. However, the period of humid heat is likely to continue in eastern parts of Assam, Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema.

Rain will continue in Central India and eastern states

States like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and Bihar will also continue to receive heavy rains for the next few days. Very heavy rains have been warned especially in Madhya Pradesh between July 12 and 14. Continuous rains will continue in Jharkhand till July 15, and in Odisha till July 16.

Alert issued in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Konkan too

Heavy rain alert has also been issued in some areas of Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat and Saurashtra. Incidents like waterlogging and landslides may occur especially in the ghat areas. In such a situation, people have been appealed to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

Abnormal weather due to climate change

In this era of climate change, the weather is no longer the same. The IMD has clearly warned that such abnormal and extreme rainfall events may increase further in the future. This will affect life, homes may be destroyed and floods on the roads can stop people’s lives.
