Heavy Rain Alert: The month of September is ending and the weather in Uttar Pradesh is changing again. Rising heat has made people uncomfortable, but the Indian Meteorological Department has issued a new alert. According to the report, several districts will witness heavy rainfall in the coming days. This shift will bring both relief and challenges for residents and farmers.
Heavy Rainfall Expected in Uttar Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has predicted strong showers in many parts of the state. Heavy rainfall may occur in most districts today, while September 25th is likely to remain clear. After this, western Uttar Pradesh could experience widespread rainfall on September 26th. The department has also warned of possible thunderstorms and lightning during this period.
Rain Predictions for the Coming Days
According to the IMD, rainfall activity will continue on September 27th, 28th, and 29th. Both western and eastern Uttar Pradesh are likely to see significant showers. The conditions may bring short-term problems like waterlogging, but they will also benefit agriculture, especially paddy crops. Farmers are expected to welcome this spell as it replenishes soil moisture.

Monsoon Withdrawal from Different Districts
The department has shared a clear timeline for monsoon withdrawal in Uttar Pradesh. As per the report, monsoon will withdraw from Bijnor on September 27th, Agra on September 28th, Bareilly on September 29th, and Jhansi and Mainpuri on September 30th. This gradual exit shows that the monsoon will stay active in parts of the state until the start of October.
Timeline of Monsoon Exit from Major Cities
Kanpur and Lucknow will see withdrawal of the monsoon on October 3rd. After that, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, and Varanasi will experience withdrawal on October 4th. This indicates that eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh will remain under monsoon influence for a longer period compared to the western side.
Rainfall Alert Beyond Uttar Pradesh
The IMD has also issued alerts for several states apart from Uttar Pradesh. Rain warnings are active in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. These regions could face heavy showers with severe weather conditions. Such alerts are crucial as they may involve risks of flooding in vulnerable areas.

Rainfall Situation in Other States
Apart from southern India, rainfall activity is also expected in Maharashtra, Telangana, and Karnataka. Northeastern states are also predicted to witness showers accompanied by strong winds. These updates indicate that monsoon circulation is still active in many regions across the country even in the last week of September.
What It Means for Residents
For the people of Uttar Pradesh, this weather change means temporary relief from humidity. At the same time, residents need to remain cautious about waterlogging, lightning, and storms. Farmers, however, are likely to benefit most from the final spell of monsoon rains as it will support standing crops before harvest season.
