  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • 1 cup cabbage (finely grated)
  • ½ cup carrot (finely grated)
  • ½ cup capsicum (chopped)
  • ½ cup onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Homemade Veg Momos

  • Step 1: Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, add flour, salt, and oil. Slowly add water and knead into a smooth, medium-soft dough. Cover it with a cloth and let it rest for 15–20 minutes.
  • Step 2: Cook the Filling: Heat oil in a pan, add onions and ginger-garlic paste, sauté until fragrant. Add cabbage, carrot, and capsicum. Stir fry for 2–3 minutes on high flame. Add soy sauce, pepper, and salt. Mix well and cook for another minute until the veggies shrink slightly. Let the mixture cool completely.
  • Step 3: Shape the Momos: Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a thin circle. Add 1 spoon of filling in the center. Fold and pleat the dough edges to form round or crescent-shaped momos. Seal properly to avoid opening during steaming.
  • Step 4: Steam the Momos: Grease a steamer plate and place the momos with some space between each. Steam for 10–12 minutes on medium flame until the momos become shiny and slightly transparent.
