India Weather Update: These days the weather has changed across the country and this change has brought relief to many states and also a challenge for some. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of light to heavy rain in many parts of the country in the coming days.
Rain knocks in Delhi-NCR, but problems may increase
People of Delhi and NCR will have to face light to moderate rain in the coming days. The Meteorological Department says that this rain will definitely provide relief from the heat but along with this people may also have to face problems like waterlogging and power outage. Due to the rain in the last few days, there has been a significant improvement in the air quality of Delhi, which is a matter of great relief for the general public.
Clouds will also rain in North India, people should be cautious
Apart from Delhi, there is a possibility of rain in northern states like Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rains, especially in mountainous areas, can cause incidents like landslides. In such a situation, the local administration and the general public have been advised to remain alert.
Threat of heavy rains in western India, Mumbai-Pune may be affected
According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, western states like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa may receive heavy to very heavy rains till July 17. Due to continuous rains in cities like Mumbai and Pune, waterlogging has been seen in many major areas, affecting the daily life of the people.
Weather will also change in South India
The effect of rain is going to be seen in southern states as well. Light to heavy rains have been predicted in states like Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Heavy rains are expected especially in coastal areas, while moderate rainfall is expected in other parts. The Meteorological Department has advised the residents of coastal areas to take special precautions and limit their economic activities during this period.
Relief from heatwave, but risk too
The continuous rain is expected to bring down the temperature by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius, which will give people great relief from the scorching heat. But at the same time, strong winds (up to 50-60 km/h) and lightning may also occur during the rain, so people have been advised to avoid unnecessary exit and follow the instructions of the local administration.
While on the one hand this monsoon rain is giving relief to people from the scorching heat, on the other hand the threat of natural disasters also remains. Therefore, it is important that people remain alert, follow the advice of the Meteorological Department and avoid leaving the house if not needed.
