People have been advised to avoid travelling in hilly areas and stay at home if not necessary.

A red alert has been issued in areas like Ambala, Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Barara, and Kalka in Haryana. At the same time, warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued in districts like Mohali, Rajpura, Ludhiana, Faridkot, Ferozepur and Amritsar in Punjab. According to the Meteorological Department, the next 24 hours are very sensitive for these states. The administration has given instructions to be extra cautious due to the possibility of floods, waterlogging and damage to crops.

Light rain likely in Delhi, temperature will remain normal

The national capital Delhi is likely to receive light rain and thunderstorms on Sunday. The maximum temperature may be around 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum may be around 29 degrees Celsius. Although there is no threat of major danger in Delhi, according to the reports of the Meteorological Department, the intensity of rain may increase here too in the next few days.

While the monsoon usually enters North India around July 8, this time it reached in the last week of June. This caused heavy rains in many states, including Himachal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi, due to which incidents like landslides, cloudbursts and floods were seen in the hilly areas.
