Weather Report: Cloudburst in Himachal, 16 dead, many missing
A scene of massive devastation has come to the fore in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The flood caused by cloudburst has devastated villages here. So far, 16 people have lost their lives and many are still missing. After this devastation, the Manali-Keylong road has been closed and traffic on about 246 roads is completely stalled. Relief and rescue work is going on on a war footing, but difficulties have increased due to continuous rain and road closures.
The Meteorological Department has warned that many parts of Himachal may receive more rain in the next few days, which may further increase the risk of floods. The state government has appealed to the people to be cautious and avoid traveling to hilly areas.
Weather Report: Showers of relief amid humidity in Uttar Pradesh
Monsoon is gradually gaining hold in the entire state in Uttar Pradesh. Light to moderate rain is expected in cities like Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Ballia and Siddharthnagar, which will provide some relief to the people troubled by humidity. The Terai and Purvanchal areas will remain cloudy and there may be rain with strong winds. Although, there is no situation of heavy rain in western UP yet, clouds are definitely hovering in the sky.
The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in districts like Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Chitrakoot and Banda. There is a possibility of thunderstorms along with heavy rains in these areas in the next 24 hours.
Weather Report: Rain wreaks havoc in Karnataka, Rajasthan and Bihar too
There is an alert of heavy to very heavy rains in coastal districts of Karnataka like Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. People have been advised to take special precautions due to strong winds and heavy rainfall in coastal areas.
The weather has also changed in Rajasthan. Torrential rain warning has been issued in many districts on July 4. The monsoon trough line has reached the Bay of Bengal via Jaisalmer, Kota, Satna, Daltonganj, due to which the process of rainfall has intensified across North and East India.
There is a possibility of heavy rain and lightning with thunder in districts like Kaimur, Katihar, Kishanganj and Rohtas in Bihar. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people not to go out in the open and stay in safe places in case of lightning.
Weather Report: Slight relief in Delhi-NCR too
The country’s capital, Delhi and the NCR region are also expected to receive light rain with thunder and lightning till July 8. The temperature is expected to drop, and the maximum temperature of the day can go up to 28 degrees. Delhiites will get some relief from the humid weather, but the intensity of rain will be limited.
Weather Report: Next 24 hours, Time for caution for the country
The Meteorological Department has warned that the coming 24 hours can be challenging for many parts of the country. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, Goa, Uttarakhand, Northeast India and Himachal Pradesh. There is a danger of landslides and floods in these areas.
