Gold prices have touched new highs ahead of Dhanteras and Diwali. Both gold and silver are witnessing continuous growth in their prices. The 24-carat gold price has reached ₹131,064 per 10 grams including GST, while silver prices have touched ₹175,975 per kilogram. As per the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), gold closed at ₹126,714 without GST on October 15.
24-Carat Gold Price Update
On October 16, the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold increased by ₹533, taking it to ₹127,247. This rise has pushed gold prices to a new all-time high. Previously, on October 15, the price stood at ₹1,26,714 per 10 grams. After adding GST, the 24-carat gold price is now ₹131,064. The rate change indicates that festive demand is playing a major role in pushing prices upward.
Silver Price Movement
Silver prices, on the other hand, showed a mixed trend. On October 16, silver rates fell sharply by ₹3,150 per kilogram, bringing the price down to ₹1,70,850 per kg from ₹1,74,000 per kg. However, including GST, silver is currently priced at ₹175,975 per kilogram. The drop in silver prices shows a short-term correction despite high festive season demand.
23-Carat Gold Rates
The price of 23-carat gold rose by ₹530, reaching ₹126,737 per 10 grams. With GST added, it now costs ₹130,539 per 10 grams. This rise aligns with the overall uptrend in gold rates seen in the last few days. After the inclusion of making charges, the final purchase price will be higher. Traders believe that prices may continue to rise if global gold demand increases further.
22-Carat Gold Rate Increase
22-carat gold also became costlier today. Its price increased by ₹488, reaching ₹116,558 per 10 grams. With GST, it stands at ₹120,054 per 10 grams. The price does not include making charges, which vary based on jewellery design. This hike in the 22-carat rate has made gold jewellery slightly expensive for retail buyers ahead of Diwali.
18-Carat Gold Price Update
For 18-carat gold, the price rose by ₹399 per 10 grams, taking the rate to ₹95,435. Including GST, the 18-carat gold price has now reached ₹98,298 per 10 grams. This category remains popular for lightweight ornaments and modern jewellery designs. The price jump indicates that demand remains consistent in urban markets.
14-Carat Gold Latest Rate
The price of 14-carat gold increased by ₹312 per 10 grams, taking it to ₹74,440. After including GST, the rate stands at ₹76,673 per 10 grams. Like other variants, the final cost will be slightly higher after adding making charges. This segment is in demand for small jewellery items and low-budget purchases.
Overall Market Trend
Both gold and silver continue to witness price fluctuations in the festive season. Analysts say rising global prices and domestic demand have pushed the rates higher. Customers planning to buy gold for Dhanteras and Diwali may face further price increases if international rates remain strong.
