BPSC AEDO Exam Pattern: The Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) Exam 2025 is an important recruitment test conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission to select qualified and skilled candidates for the education department of Bihar. Through this exam, candidates get an opportunity to work in different districts and contribute to the improvement and development of education in the state.

The exam pattern of BPSC AEDO 2025 is designed to check the knowledge of language, general awareness and reasoning ability of the candidates. There are three papers in the written test which include General Language, General Studies and General Aptitude. Each paper has 100 objective type questions and carries 100 marks. The duration for each paper is 2 hours and there is a negative marking of one third mark for every wrong answer.

The General Language paper has questions from English and Hindi and it is qualifying in nature. Candidates must score at least 30 percent separately in both languages to get their other papers evaluated. After clearing the written test, candidates have to go through document verification. There is no interview in this recruitment process and the final merit list is prepared only on the basis of marks obtained in the written exam.

Paper 1 – General Language – 100 marks – 2 hours (Includes 30 marks English and 70 marks Hindi) Qualifying nature, must score at least 30% separately in English and Hindi
Paper 2 – General Studies – 100 marks – 2 hours (Evaluated only if language paper is cleared)
Paper 3 – General Aptitude – 100 marks – 2 hours – (Evaluated only if language paper is cleared)
Total – 300 marks
Time Duration – 6 hours for all papers
Question Type – Objective type questions
Negative Marking – Yes (1/3 negative marking per wrong answer)
After written exam there is document verification – No interview – Final merit based on written exam marks

General Language – English topics include grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, sentence correction, and basic writing skills – Hindi topics include व्याकरण, शब्दावली, पर्यायवाची, विलोम, गद्यांश, वाक्य सुधार और लेखन कौशल
General Studies – History of India and Bihar, Geography of India and Bihar, Indian Polity and Constitution, Indian Economy, General Science, Environmental Issues, Current Affairs of National and State level, Important Government Schemes and Policies, Education related policies and developments
General Aptitude – Arithmetic (percentage, ratio and proportion, average, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time and work, time and distance), Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Analytical Ability, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Basic Statistics
