The government has introduced an important update under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). To continue receiving free rations, every ration card holder must now complete e-KYC every five years. This rule ensures that benefits reach only genuine and eligible families. Many households completed Aadhaar verification years ago, so updating the database has become essential. The entire process is now digital and can be completed at home within minutes.

Mandatory e-KYC Every Five Years

Under the NFSA, subsidized or free rations are provided to millions across the country. To strengthen the verification process, the government now requires e-KYC every five years. This change is aimed at preventing misuse of the system. Several families last completed Aadhaar-linked verification around 2013. After so many years, updating the data helps ensure accuracy and prevents errors in ration distribution.

Update Your Ration Card Details

The database needs to be refreshed to maintain the system’s transparency. With technology now available, the government has made the process simple. Beneficiaries can complete e-KYC without visiting any office. Everything is mobile-based and works quickly. This update is necessary for all families who wish to continue receiving free rations on time.

How to Complete e-KYC Using Mera Ration App

The government has provided two apps for this purpose: Mera Ration and Aadhaar Face RD. First, both apps must be installed on your mobile. The Aadhaar Face RD app helps with face authentication. After installation, open the Mera Ration app and enter your location. Then enter your Aadhaar number, fill in the captcha, and verify using OTP. Your Aadhaar details will appear on the screen. Now choose the Face e-KYC option and scan your face when the camera opens. Once submitted, e-KYC completes within seconds.

Checking the Ration Card e-KYC Status

After completing the process, you must confirm whether e-KYC was successful. For this, open the app again and enter your location and Aadhaar number. Complete OTP verification to view your status. If it shows Status: Y, your e-KYC is complete. If it shows Status: N, you must repeat the steps. This verification check is important so that no beneficiary faces issues during ration distribution.

Why This Rule Matters for Beneficiaries

The government aims to make the ration system more transparent and efficient. Updating the database after every five years ensures that only verified families continue receiving benefits. The digital process also reduces paperwork and prevents long queues. With mobile verification available, the system becomes easier for everyone.

Simple Digital Process for All Users

The steps are designed to help even first-time users complete e-KYC without difficulty. Face authentication through the Aadhaar Face RD app makes the process smooth. Beneficiaries only need a mobile phone, Aadhaar number, and basic internet connectivity. This keeps the verification secure and convenient.

Complete e-KYC on Time

It is important for all ration card holders to complete this mandatory process within the required time. Only then will free ration benefits continue without interruption. The simple mobile-based system ensures that the process is completed quickly and accurately for every family.
