The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has introduced a new AI-powered assistant called UPI Help to make digital transactions smoother and smarter. Launched on October 21, 2025, this innovative tool aims to support users who face issues related to UPI payments or need assistance with transactions. Currently, the feature is in its testing phase, but it’s expected to completely transform how users interact with digital payment systems.
UPI Help Features
UPI Help comes with three key features designed to make digital payments more user-friendly. The first feature allows users to ask questions about UPI services, where the AI instantly provides clear and accurate answers. The second feature focuses on resolving transaction issues like checking payment status, logging complaints, and providing extra details to banks for faster dispute resolution. The third feature, known as “mandate management,” allows users to manage their AutoPay or EMI settings easily by giving commands like “Pause,” “Resume,” or “Revoke.

Benefits for Users
The biggest benefit of UPI Help is the elimination of long waiting times for customer support. Users can now get answers instantly through the AI chat system without needing to contact bank helplines. This assistant simplifies the process of tracking transactions, raising complaints, and getting real-time updates. It also improves transparency and speeds up dispute resolution by directly linking information with the respective banks. Moreover, users can manage recurring payments and mandates in one place, making the digital payment experience more seamless.
How to Use UPI Help
UPI Help can currently be accessed through DigiSathi and the participating banks’ online platforms. In the future, NPCI plans to integrate it into all major UPI applications. To use it via DigiSathi, users need to search for “DigiSathi UPI” on Google, open the official site, go to the UPI Help section, and log in using their registered mobile number and captcha. Once logged in, users can directly chat with the AI assistant and receive instant answers to their questions.
Integration and Accessibility
As the system expands, UPI Help will soon be available across various UPI applications such as PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm, and others. NPCI is also working to ensure that users in rural and urban areas can access this tool easily. The goal is to make digital transactions simpler, quicker, and safer for everyone, regardless of their location or bank. This inclusion will make it one of the most helpful features in the Indian digital payment ecosystem.

Smart AI System
What makes UPI Help unique is its learning ability. The AI assistant continuously evolves by analyzing user interactions and feedback. Over time, it will understand users’ queries more effectively and deliver even more accurate responses. This adaptability ensures that the tool stays updated with new UPI guidelines and features, improving user satisfaction and confidence in digital payments.
Future Plans by NPCI
NPCI plans to roll out UPI Help in phases, adding new languages and expanding its reach to more banks. The organization’s long-term vision is to make India’s UPI system the most advanced digital payment framework globally. With this AI innovation, NPCI aims to reduce customer complaints and promote cashless transactions more efficiently.
A Step Towards Smarter Digital Payments
UPI Help is a forward-thinking move by NPCI that combines artificial intelligence with financial technology. This smart assistant will make digital transactions not only faster and safer but also more interactive. It’s a clear step toward creating a digital ecosystem where every UPI user gets real-time assistance and control over their transactions.
