Mahindra is continuously expanding its SUV portfolio in India, and now the company’s most awaited compact SUV concept Mahindra Vision S, also known as the ‘Baby Scorpio’, has been spotted again during testing. This time, the interior has also been revealed for the first time. Let’s know in detail about its design, interior highlights, engine options, and expected launch details.

Design and Exterior Look

Mahindra Vision S carries clear Scorpio DNA in its styling. The SUV has a short overhang, wide stance, and a spare tire mounted on the rear door, giving it a rugged off-road identity. The design combines retro and modern touches, making it suitable for both city driving and adventure rides. Muscular body panels, a bold front grille, and sleek LED lights further strengthen its tough presence on the road.

Interior and Cabin Features

Spy shots reveal that Mahindra has given great attention to the interior. The cabin includes grab handles, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a color MID display, and a panoramic sunroof. The interior layout looks modern with premium-quality materials, confirming Mahindra’s focus on comfort and luxury. These additions make the Vision S a more practical and family-friendly SUV while maintaining its sporty attitude.

Engine and Power Options

Although Mahindra has not officially announced the engine details, reports suggest that the Vision S may come with petrol, diesel, and even electric options. The petrol version is expected to use a 1.2-liter mStallion turbo engine generating around 130 PS power and 230 Nm torque. Meanwhile, the diesel option could be a 1.5-liter mHawk engine producing 115 PS and 300 Nm torque. Both engines are likely to offer manual and automatic gearbox choices.

Mileage and Efficiency

Mileage details have not been officially shared, but based on Mahindra’s engine history, the Vision S petrol variant may deliver around 17–18 km/l, while the diesel version could offer close to 21 km/l. The electric variant, if introduced, might deliver a driving range of around 350–400 km per charge. These estimates make it a competitive option in its category.

Other Specifications and Dimensions

Mahindra Vision S is expected to be based on the company’s latest NU_IQ platform, which will allow multiple powertrain configurations. The SUV may feature a 5-seater layout, advanced infotainment system, connected car technology, and multiple drive modes. Dual airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control, and 360-degree camera could also be part of the package, ensuring maximum safety.

Price and Launch Timeline

According to reports, Mahindra could launch the Vision S production model in 2027. The expected starting price in India could range between ₹10 lakh to ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned below the Scorpio-N, this compact SUV aims to attract buyers who want the Scorpio’s personality in a smaller, more affordable package.

Performance and Driving Experience

Mahindra Vision S will likely focus on delivering a balanced ride with both city comfort and off-road capability. The refined suspension system, powerful engine options, and strong chassis are expected to ensure good performance. The company also plans to electrify its legacy SUVs like Scorpio and Bolero, so a Vision S Electric variant in the future cannot be ruled out.
