Asha Negi, known as Poorvi Deshmukh from Pavitra Rishta, is currently making waves on OTT platforms. She is appearing in back-to-back web series. Her much-awaited show Criminal Justice 4 is now streaming. Asha plays an important role in this series, which also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Zeeshan Ayub, and Surveen Chawla.
In an interview with a popular Indian media, the actress spoke about her role and the series. She also shared when fans can expect to see her back on TV. Asha said she dreams of having a career like Tabu and Sakshi Tanwar in the industry.
Asha Negi Talks About Her Role in ‘Criminal Justice 4’
Asha said, “I can’t reveal much about the role right now. But it was an exciting and challenging character. I worked with some really talented actors, so I was a bit nervous too. It was both an exciting and nervous experience for me.”
She shared that although she didn’t get a chance to share screen space with Pankaj Tripathi, she learned a lot from Zeeshan Ayub. Asha said, “I worked mostly with Zeeshan. He is very experienced but never makes you feel it. That’s the best thing about him. He won’t try to teach you anything directly, but you learn a lot just by watching him act. When your co-actor is experienced, you naturally learn more.”
On Doing Bold Scenes
Asha replied, “I have done intimate scenes 3-4 times since I started working on OTT. Now I feel more comfortable than before.”
When asked if she sets any boundaries or clauses before doing bold scenes on OTT, she said, “I’ve never thought about any such clauses. If I like the character and know the full story, only then will I decide whether I’m okay with it or not.
If the story demands an intimate scene and it is being handled properly, then it’s fine. Who the director is and how good the story is—all these things matter. But I haven’t set any strict conditions for myself. I want to keep myself free.”
Will Asha Negi return to TV shows?
Asha said, “I don’t have any plans to return to TV right now. Working on web series has become addictive. A web series finishes in 2-4 months, and then you can move on to something new. You feel creatively satisfied and enjoy the process. But TV takes a long-term commitment. My parents were very happy seeing me on TV, but right now, I don’t feel like going back.”
