The electric two-wheeler market in India is once again buzzing, and this time it’s Bajaj Auto creating headlines. After the success of the Chetak 30 Series and 35 Series, Bajaj is gearing up for its next big step — the Next-Gen Bajaj Chetak. Recently, spy shots of the scooter surfaced online, revealing some major design and feature updates ahead of its expected launch.
Engine
The Next-Gen Bajaj Chetak will continue to be powered by a robust electric motor, optimized for smoother performance and better energy efficiency than its previous models. Although exact power figures are yet to be disclosed, reports suggest the company may improve acceleration and range capabilities. Bajaj’s focus with this update seems to be achieving a better balance between performance and durability.
Mileage
In terms of range, the upcoming Chetak is expected to deliver an improved distance per charge compared to the outgoing model. The previous generation offered around 108 km on a single charge, and this next-gen model might exceed that benchmark. Bajaj aims to make the scooter more efficient for city commutes, ensuring riders get an extended range with quicker charging times.

Other Specifications
The new Chetak, spotted during testing, maintains the brand’s classic silhouette while adding several modern enhancements. The rear section now features a redesigned LED tail light unit integrated with brake lights and indicators. A refined number plate holder and a sporty rear tyre hugger have also been added. The front headlamp and DRL setup look similar to the current version, but the apron-mounted indicators are now relocated to the handlebar area, giving a premium appearance.
Price and Offer
The official price details are not yet revealed, but considering Bajaj’s current pricing structure, the Next-Gen Chetak could be placed slightly above the existing top variant. The current Chetak series is priced between ₹1.15 lakh and ₹1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model, with added features, could see a marginal increase. Once launched, introductory offers may be available to attract early buyers.
Another Features
One of the key changes includes a new digital instrument cluster. Instead of the current TFT display, the upcoming version might feature an LCD setup in a new rectangular shape. The new model also offers a front disc brake, while features like keyless start might be limited to higher trims. The spy shots hint at this being a mid-level variant, possibly named Chetak 3502 or Chetak 3002.
Look and Design
The Next-Gen Chetak retains its signature retro styling while adding modern touches. The flatter seat design enhances comfort, and the redesigned tail section gives a sportier vibe. The body panels are partially visible under camouflage, suggesting subtle refinements rather than drastic changes. The overall finish looks premium, maintaining Chetak’s balance between classic elegance and futuristic design.

Performance
Bajaj Auto is expected to tune this new version for better city performance, offering quicker throttle response and improved ride quality. The handling dynamics will likely remain stable and comfortable, ideal for daily urban commuting. Its lightweight frame and upgraded braking system will ensure confident control, even in busy traffic.
Launch Timeline
While Bajaj has not officially announced the launch date, reports suggest that the Next-Gen Chetak could make its debut by late 2025, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2026. Bajaj aims to strengthen its stronghold in the electric segment, and this next-gen version could play a key role in boosting its position in the market.
