JHEV Motors has launched its much-awaited electric scooter, the Alfa R3, promising strong performance and features for India’s EV market. With a claimed charging time of only 3–4 hours and a range of 100–110 km, the Alfa R3 could be a serious contender in its segment.

Engine

The Alfa R3 is powered by a 3 kW hub-mounted BLDC motor, delivering adequate torque for city commuting. The motor supports smooth acceleration and handles moderate inclines without much strain.

Mileage

This scooter offers a range of 100 to 110 km per full charge under standard riding conditions, according to ARAI-claimed data. Real-world range may vary depending on riding style, load, and terrain. Charging takes 3–4 hours using a standard AC home charger.

Other Specifications

Battery is a 72 V, 30 Ah lithium-ion pack giving about 2.16 kWh usable energy.  Battery comes with a 3-year warranty. Top speed is around 85 km/h. It also features LED lighting, tubeless tyres, and an IP67 battery protection rating.

Price and Offer

The Alfa R3’s starting price is approximately ₹1,25,000 in India. Depending on variants, the on-road price may vary with state subsidies and incentives. Some offers might include free home charger units or extended battery warranty during launch period.

Features

It includes regenerative braking, digital instrument cluster, reverse mode, and smartphone connectivity (if offered by JHEV). The scooter also supports fast home charging and has safety cutoffs for battery overheat and overcurrent. IP67 water/dust resistance gives added reliability under Indian road conditions.

Look and Design

The Alfa R3 uses sharp, modern styling with angular body panels and aerodynamic lines. The LED headlamp and DRL give it a futuristic look. The seating is designed for comfort for two riders, with decent legroom and grab rails. Colour options may include matte and gloss finishes.

Performance

In city riding, the Alfa R3 feels peppy due to instant torque from the electric motor. It handles moderate gradients with ease and is best suited for urban commuting. The top speed of 85 km/h is adequate for city and semi-urban roads. Acceleration might drop under full load, but overall the performance is competitive in its class.
