The important Pamban railway bridge connects the island of Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. This bridge, built over the sea between Pamban and Rameswaram, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April last year. Since then, the speed of trains on the new bridge has increased significantly. Earlier, trains could only run at 10 kilometres per hour on the old bridge. Now, using advanced technology, the railways have increased the speed to 75 kilometres per hour on the new bridge.

Because of these faster trains, the departure times of many trains passing through Rameswaram have been changed. The new schedule will start on Wednesday, May 14. Trains from Trichy, Tirupati, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, and Madurai will follow the new timings from that date.
