On May 1, films from many genres were released on the big screen to keep theatres active. Two Bollywood films, Raid 2 and The Bhootni, were released, along with two big South Indian films, Retro and Hit: The Third Case (Hit 3). The Bhootni couldn’t stand against Raid 2, but the result of the box office clash between Retro and Hit 3 is now clear.

Hit 3 and Retro were two of the most awaited South Indian films of the year. One is a suspense thriller, and the other is a romantic action drama. Although Retro performed better than Hit 3 on the first day and led in collections during the first week, both films gave each other tough competition on the ninth day.
