Yamaha E01: Yamaha starts worldwide testing of its electric scooter


Yamaha E01 Electric Scooter: After being showcased at several international events, the Yamaha E01 electric scooter is now progressing to the testing stage. Tests for the EV have been confirmed in Malaysia, along with Thailand, Taiwan and Indonesia. According to reports, the proof-of-concept (PoC) planner for the Yamaha E01 Yasushi Nomura has said that the electric scooter will be tested in Europe and Japan as well. Yamaha Japan has planned to do highway testing in Europe. This scooter of Yamaha will be tested in different conditions.

Concerns like travel range, charging process and charging time of the Yamaha E01 will be addressed in the testing. The Yamaha E01 will be similar to the Yamaha NMax in size and seating layout. The E01 will get a 4.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Which will power an electric motor that will generate 8.1 kW at 5,000 rpm and 30.2 Nm of torque at 1,950 rpm.

It has been designed keeping in mind the urban mobility. The electric scooter will offer a range of up to 100 km and a top speed of 100 kmph. The Yamaha E01 electric scooter will come in three power modes as well as reverse mode. According to reports, there will be three charging options for the new electric scooter.

The wall charger can be used for home purposes, a fast charger will charge the electric scooter up to 80 percent in an hour and a 110 to 240 volt AC supply is a portable charger designed to be taken with the E01 With which the scooter can be fully charged in 14 hours. Meanwhile, Yamaha Motor India has recently introduced electric scooters in the form of the new Neo and E01 to its dealer partners. While this does not necessarily guarantee the launch of any scooter in the country, it does indicate that the company is exploring the possibilities of battery-powered two wheelers in the Indian market.
