Wing Commander Abhinandan to get ‘Veer Chakra’ today, PAK’s F-16 aircraft was shot down

Date:

New Delhi: Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman of the Indian Air Force will be awarded the ‘Veer Chakra’ today. It was announced to honor him with this honor, but today President Ram Nath Kovind will give him this honor. Wing Commander Abhinandan shot down Pakistan’s F-16 fighter jet after Balakot air strike.

Significantly, on 14 February 2019, Pakistan’s terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed carried out a suicide attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama. In this attack, 40 Indian soldiers were martyred in this attack. In order to give a befitting reply to the attack, the Indian Air Force conducted an air strike in Balakot, Pakistan on the night of 26-27 February. India’s air strike killed more than 300 terrorists in Pakistan.

On 27 February, the day after the airstrike, the Pakistani Air Force tried to enter India, but was repulsed by the Indian Air Force. Wing Commander Abhinandan was flying the MiG-21 at that time. He shot down Pakistan’s F-16 with the same fighter jet. However, Abhinandan’s plane later crashed into the Pakistan border, after which he was taken prisoner by the Pakistani army. But under pressure from India, Pakistan released Abhinandan after about 60 hours.
