Why did Rishabh Pant wear tape on his jersey in T20? Know the reason


New Delhi: The Indian team has taken an unbeaten 2-0 lead in the three-match T20 International series against New Zealand. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant scored the winning shots for Team India in both the matches. The second T20 match was played on 19 November (Friday) at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, in which India won by seven wickets. In this match, Pant’s jersey was taped when he came out for wicketkeeping during New Zealand’s batting. The photo of Pant’s tape jersey went viral.

Actually, Pant was wearing the jersey of T20 World Cup Team India. The jersey had the T20 World Cup logo on the right side, which Pant had to tape to hide. He wore half a sweater in the middle of the match, after which his tape was not visible. The T20 series is being played immediately after the T20 World Cup. In this match played for India, Pant scored 12 runs in 6 balls. Pant could not score a single run in the first four balls but then hit two sixes in two consecutive balls to take the team to victory.

Pant led India to victory with a four in the previous match and with a six in this match, that too was his signature one-handed shot. Pant along with Venkatesh Iyer led Team India to victory. India won the first match by five wickets and the second by seven wickets. The final match of the series will now be played in Kolkata on November 21. After this, a two-match Test series will be played between the two teams. Pant has been rested from the Test series.
