Well, the big news is coming from the Hero MotoCorp who have announced a strategic partnership with Gogoro on manufacturing battery swapping two-wheeler electric vehicle. Many of you might not know about it, but Gogoro is a company of Taiwan that manufactures and sell electric scooter and battery vehicle charging station. The purpose of Hero MotoCorp to join hands with Taiwan’s company Gogoro is to expand and uplift the electric automobile market and head to the vision of sustainable mobility. The announcement was officially announced on the social media accounts of Hero MotoCorp, today, however, the inner details of the partnership have not been unveiled by the company.
Though it is not the first time that the company has partnered with an electric vehicle manufacturing company, however, this partnership is different from the previous ones. The current existing model of EV in the Indian market is that we have to take our vehicle to the charging station to charge, but with the battery-swapping stations, the rider does not have to move their vehicle to the electric station in order to charge. The conventional and standard charging infrastructure has always been a big hindrance for many companies to develop electric automobiles in the Indian market.
However, with the new battery-swapping infrastructure, we are sure that many companies will now come forward and launch EV’s in the market of India. Well, talking about Gogoro company in a detail in a little detail, then as of now the company has more than 2,000 battery swapping stations. In a statement given by Chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, Pawan Munjal, he stated that the vision of Hero moto and Gogoro is the same and that is to expedite and bring sustainable electric movement in India and around the globe.
