He is considered firm in his principles and has also won the biggest award in the world of cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke. V. Shantaram produced more than 90 films in his career. At the same time, he worked as a director in about 55 films. V. Shantaram made the film ‘Boond Jo Ban Gayi Moti’ in 1967. Jitendra was cast in the lead role in the film but very few people know that the first lead actress in this film was not Mumtaz but Shantaram’s daughter Rajshree. Yes, according to reports, Rajshree arrived late on the first day of shooting of ‘Boond Jo Ban Gayi Moti’ and the disciplined Shantaram did not like his daughter’s late arrival.


Angered by this, the filmmaker expelled his daughter from the film and cast Mumtaz in her place. It was only after this film that Mumtaz became a popular actress in the Hindi film industry. Although V. Shantaram had made many great films, but in 1937 the film ‘Duniya Na Mane’ came in Hindi and Marathi by the name ‘Kunku’ and the film dared to show child marriage, atrocities on women.
