The Xiaomi 12 (previously Mi 12) has been in the works for some time and is expected to arrive later this year, most likely after Qualcomm unveiled its new processor. Thanks to many rumours, a lot has been revealed about the flagship. The latest leak, courtesy of Digital Chat Station, has revealed the camera specs of the Xiaomi 12. The 108MP sensor that was recently seen on the Mi 11 and MIX 4 is on its way. At the back, the Xiaomi 12 is believed to include a 50MP triple camera system. This indicates that the phone will include a 50MP core sensor, along with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP telephoto lens. The latter is said to have 5x periscope zoom functionality. However, Xiaomi is also said to be working on 10x Periscope.
Although previous rumors said that the Xiaomi 12 would use Samsung’s upcoming 200MP sensor, we believe it was saved for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Xiaomi 12 is still in the design verification stage. As a result, the final hardware specifications may differ. At the moment, that’s all we know about the Xiaomi 12 camera, but we should learn more in the coming weeks.
The Xiaomi 12 is reported to have an adaptive refresh rate LTPO AMOLED display (1Hz to 120Hz). It is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC, which will replace the Snapdragon 888 processor seen in the Mi 11. The Xiaomi 12 is tipped to pack LPDDR5X RAM which was unveiled recently and is said to offer maximum data rates from 6,400 Mbps. Up to 8,533 Mbps, twice the LPDDR4x RAM. The phone is likely to boot Android 12 out of the box and connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
