Chingri’ social and rival app, a homegrown rival to Chinese TikTok, on Friday said it has crossed 10 million downloads on the Google Play Store, indicating that content creators are flocking to the app. It has been one of the top two free apps on the Google Play Store for over a week now.
Co-founder Biswatma Nayak said, “Our retention numbers and daily engagement times of the app are also witnessing a solid growth. Our team is working round the clock to provide a seamless experience to all our customers.”

The app is available in languages like English, Hindi, Bangla, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.
The ban on 59 Chinese apps has given domestic app developers an opportunity to build world-class products like chat, short videos and photo/video sharing segments, and homegrown apps are now scouring the internet for new ones.
