India’s Krishna Nagar entered the final after defeating Kristen Combs of United Kingdom 2-0 in the men’s singles SH6 – semifinal match at Yoyogi National Stadium on Saturday.
In just 26 minutes, Krishna defeated Kristen Combs 21-10 and 21-11 on Court 1. Nagar will now compete against Man Kai Chu of Hong Kong, China for the gold medal, while Kristen Combs will compete for the bronze. Medal against Vitor Goncalves Tavares of Brazil.
Krishna wasted no time in dominating the proceedings from the start to enter the semi-finals. The Indian was able to take a massive 11-6 lead in the mid-game break thanks to his quick and quick legs. They took the match at a brisk pace to win the opening set 21-10 in just 11 minutes.
The Indian thrashed the Briton again in the second set and set the pace of the match with his long rallies. Nagar looked very strong for Coombs as the 22-year-old took an 11-3 lead at halftime. The Indian covered the court better between the two players as he continued to control the tempo of the match and entered the gold medal match. He won the second set 21-11.
