After Abhishek Sharma’s quick 59 runs from 20 balls, Heinrich Klaasen added 47 runs, Kamindu Mendis scored 32, and Ishan Kishan made 35 runs. Hyderabad won the match by 6 wickets.

With this defeat against Hyderabad, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were knocked out of the playoff race. The team now sits at 7th place on the points table with 10 points and has lost 7 out of 12 matches.

After the match, Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant looked very disappointed. He said that some of their main bowlers were injured and couldn’t play, which made things very tough for the team. It was hard to replace them, and that’s why the team couldn’t perform well.

What Did Rishabh Pant Say on LSG’s Exit from Playoffs?

After the defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant expressed his disappointment. He said, “This could have been the best season for our team, but before the tournament even started, we had many problems. Several players were injured. We had decided not to talk too much about these issues within the team, but it became difficult to overcome them.”

Auction Plans Didn’t Work Out

Pant added during the post-match presentation, “If our bowling had gone according to the plans we made during the auction, things would have been better. But this is cricket — sometimes things go your way, sometimes they don’t. Still, we are proud of how we played this season. We will take more positives than negatives.”

Strong Batting Line-up Was a Big Plus

He said, “Our batting line-up is very strong. We have the power to score runs, and that was the biggest positive this season. Our bowlers also bowled well in patches, but they couldn’t be consistent. Sometimes they performed well, and sometimes not.”

Pant Praised Young Bowler Digvesh Rathi

Pant also said they could have scored 10 more runs in the match against Hyderabad because the pitch was good for batting. He explained, “As I said earlier, we played well in patches, but we couldn’t keep the momentum. We played well in the first half of the season, but the second half was tough. It was hard to beat teams that were doing well.”

He praised young bowler Digvesh Rathi and said, “Rathi was a bright spot for us. This was his first season, and the way he bowled was a positive for the team. But in cricket, you have to keep improving and get better every season.”
