In the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in India, the second leg of the Indian Premier League will be held in the United Arab Emirates. The second leg of IPL 2021 will begin from September 19 with a clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings. Fans are happy that Phase 2 of IPL 2021 will start soon. However, many international cricketers will not be available for IPL 2021 Phase 2 due to prior commitments and busy cricket schedules for their respective countries. Here is the complete list of international players who have withdrawn from the upcoming second phase of IPL 2021:

* Jos Buttler (Rajasthan Royals)

* Jofra Archer (Rajasthan Royals)

* Ben Stokes (Rajasthan Royals)

* Pat Cummins (Kolkata Knight Riders)

* Adam Zampa (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

* Riley Meredith (Punjab Kings)

* Jhye Richardson (Punjab Kings)

* Steve Smith (Delhi Capitals)

IPL 2021 was scheduled to take place in India in April and May. However, it was postponed after several cases escalated in the bio-bubble of the teams. Later, BCCI announced that IPL 2021 Phase 2 will be held in UAE- Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dabi like last year.

However, spectators are unlikely to be allowed amid fears of the COVID-19 crisis. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla told the media in an interview, “The only issue is about the spectators whether they will allow spectators or not. So we will talk to them about it. We will go as per the decision of the UAE authorities.”
