London: The threat of corona is looming over the Indian cricket team touring England. Two players, including wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, tested positive. The report of one of them has come negative. Pant is currently in isolation, while the second test will be done on July 18. However, they have not shown any symptoms.

A BCCI official told the media that Rishabh Pant was found infected with Corona on 10 July. Actually, Pant had come to watch the semi-finals of the Euro Cup (England vs Denmark) on 8 July. Pant was accompanied by Hanuma Vihari and Jasprit Bumrah. Now questions are being raised that why the management did not take strict steps even after so many days after Pant’s report came positive. Indian coach Ravi Shastri arrived to watch the Wimbledon final on July 11 after Pant was found infected. Other players were also seen walking with the family. No one was stopped and no protective measures were taken. All players have received their first dose of Corona Vaccine Covishield. All players have to take a second dose in England. Some of them have received a second dose.

Many players including captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have reached England with family. He was on holiday with his family after playing the final match of the World Test Championship in Southampton on 23 June. According to BCCI officials, most of the players of the Indian team stayed around London. Some players had also come to visit different parts of England. All the players were supposed to join the team on July 14. On July 6, just 2 days before the ODI series against Pakistan, 7 people, including 3 players from England, came positive. However now all the players are fine.
