SpiceJet restores salaries of its employees to pre-covid level

Spicejet Employees Salary: स्पाइसजेट ने अपने कर्मचारियों के वेतन को पूर्व-कोविड स्तर पर किया बहाल

In a significant development, India’s low-cost airline SpiceJet has restored the salaries of its employees to pre-COVID levels, airline company officials have claimed. SpiceJet employees were given 100% salary for the month of September.

The airline paid the employees full salary for the month of September. Moreover, the salary was disbursed on the last day of the month, as was the case during the pre-Covid days. “From September 2021, the company has reverted to paying salaries in one go instead of paying in two parts,” the airline said in a statement. SpiceJet had cut salaries by 10-25 percent in April 2020. It was canceled by 50 per cent in November 2020. “SpiceJet was compelled to announce a temporary pay cut to ensure that there are no layoffs,” it said. It said employees with the lowest pay grades remained unaffected.

In other related news, as per media reports, SpiceJet is all set to restart Boeing-B-737 MAX aircraft from the first week of October after a two-and-a-half-year-long ban.

Notably, India’s aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has recently allowed the resumption of B-737 MAX aircraft in the Indian skies. The airline company has sent 20 pilots for simulator mandatory training before resuming operations of Max aircrafts.
