Situation worsening in Uttarakhand, 47 people died in rain-flood.. Destruction still continues


Dehradun: It is raining continuously in Uttarakhand. There have been incidents of floods and landslides in many areas. Here in Uttarkashi, 25-30 trekkers got stuck due to heavy rain on the Gomukh track. SDRF team has saved all the trackers. However, the SDRF team also faced a lot of problems during the rescue.

SDRF said that all these trackers were rescued on Monday night. The trekker team was stuck on the Gomukh trek on Monday due to a jammed road following a landslide in Deogarh. The incident was reported to Gangotri police. After this the SDRF team left for the spot and reached here and managed to save the tractors even after rain and rough roads.

So far 47 people have died in rain-related incidents in Uttarakhand. Of these, 42 are residents of Kumaon region. Meanwhile, state CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced financial assistance of Rs 4.4 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased. NDRF has deployed 15 teams in the state. So far 300 people have been safely evacuated from the flood-affected areas.
