Nanak Dev worked for the betterment of others throughout his life. He always removed the growing evils and evils in the society and worked to make the life of the individuals pleasant. Nanak Dev did not worry about happiness in order to beautify his family life and the lives of others. While traveling far and wide, he just kept illuminating the lives of other people. Therefore the Sikh community considers Nanak to be God and the Messiah and celebrates his birthday as the festival of lights.

The first Guru Nanak Dev of the Sikhs was:-
Guru Nanak was the first Guru of the Sikhs. He was the one who laid the foundation of the Sikh community. Nanak was born on April 15, 1469 in Talwandi, now Nankana Sahib in the Punjab province of Pakistan. This place is named after Nanak Dev. There is still a Gurudwara at this place, which is known as Nankana Sahib. The Gurdwara was built by Raja Rajit Singh of the Sikh Empire, popularly known as Sher-e-Punjab. Even today many people come from far and wide to visit this Gurudwara.
