Petrol Diesel Rate Today 24th May 2022: After the decision of the Central Government to reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel, the prices of both the fuels have come down. On Saturday, May 21, the excise duty on petrol was reduced by Rs 8 and on diesel by Rs 6 by the Modi government. After this, petrol has become cheaper by Rs 9.50 and diesel by Rs 7 per liter. On May 21, 2022, the Modi government has reduced the excise duty. Despite this, the Modi government is charging Rs 19.90 per liter excise duty on petrol and Rs 15.80 per liter on diesel.
Some states reduced VAT
After the decision of the central government, some states have also reduced VAT on petrol and diesel. Out of this Rajasthan, Kerala, Maharashtra are included. In Rajasthan, VAT on petrol has been reduced by Rs 2.48 per liter and on diesel by Rs 1.16 per liter. After the Kerala government reduced the excise duty, Kerala also reduced VAT. Here VAT on petrol was cut by Rs 2.41 and on diesel by Rs 1.36 per liter. However, VAT has not yet been reduced in BJP ruled states and some other states, which is also being criticized.
