OMG petrol reached Rs 120 a liter in the country, know today’s fuel rate

New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices have increased for the third consecutive day. This is the first time that petrol has reached 120 and diesel 110 in the country. Petrol is being sold at Rs 119.05 and diesel at Rs 109.88 per liter in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. Domestic oil companies have released new prices of petrol and diesel for today i.e. Friday 22 October.

In Delhi, once again the price of petrol has increased by 35 paise, while diesel has also become costlier by 35 paise. In the country’s capital Delhi, now petrol has become Rs 106.89 per liter, while diesel has become Rs 95.62 per liter. Petrol is being sold at 112.78 paise per liter in Mumbai, diesel is being sold at Rs 103.63 per liter. In Kolkata, petrol is being sold at 107.44 paise per liter and diesel at Rs 98.73 per liter.

Why is the price in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan the highest, while fuel prices are lower in other cities of Rajasthan? This is because Rajasthan levies the highest VAT on petrol and diesel in the country. Petrol is the most expensive transportation in Sriganganagar, Petrol prices are increasing due to transportation cost. Actually, earlier there was a depot in Hanumangarh, which was closed in September 2011, since then petrol has to be ordered from Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and this increases the cost of transportation. Due to this, the price of petrol increases by about one rupee. This money is not given by the company, but is taken from the consumers.
