Ola’s electric scooters will get this big update soon, know
Ola Electric is soon going to roll out its first major OTA update to its electric scooters S1 and S1 Pro. A few days before the MoveOS 2 update, the electric two-wheeler maker has revealed that it will be adding yet another new feature to its electric scooter. Bhavish Aggarwal, Founder and CEO, Ola Electric, shared a video of the Ola app, which shows that the App Lock feature will be activated once the update is rolled out.
Agarwal shared the video on Twitter and said, “We have Ola Electric app ready for MoveOS 2”, hinting that the roll out will happen soon.
Earlier, Ola Electric had revealed that the new software update will activate some of the already highlighted features on its electric scooter S1 and S1. This is the first major over-the-air (OTA) update for the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters after their launch in August last year. Some of the features to be added include Bluetooth connectivity, navigation and cruise control features.
Ola Electric hasn’t shared the full list of features to be activated in the upcoming OTA update. However, Ola Electric customers may have to wait a little longer to get some key features like Hill Hold Control and Hyper Mode. At launch, Ola had highlighted these as key features of its electric scooter which is currently not available among its rivals. Varun Dubey recently assured that most of these updates will be available before June this year.
Ola Electric emerged as one of the top electric two-wheeler manufacturers in March, and is currently second only to Hero MotoCorp with 9,123 units delivered last month.
Ola Electric’s S1 Pro comes with a claimed real-world mileage of 131 kms (ARAI range of 185 kms under ideal conditions). The e-scooter has a top speed of 115 kmph and can accelerate from steady to 100 kmph in three seconds.
