Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia has launched a master plan to develop the project’s historic city of Alula in the Kingdom’s Medina region titled “The Journey Through Time”.
The Journey Through Time Master Plan was developed under the leadership of the Crown Prince and the Minister of Culture of RCU and Prince Governor Badr of Saudi. The CEO of RCU, Amar Al-Madni, told Arab News that the master plan was conceived “in a way to capture a deeper root already present in the alula – a view of unique culture, heritage, nature and community.” Is. According to the report of the news agency Xinhua, the project aims to create 38,000 new jobs and contribute 120 billion Saudi riyals (USD32 billion) to the GDP of Saudi Arabia.
The plan represents an important milestone in Alaula’s transformation into a global destination for heritage, culture, and nature, and contributes to the advancement of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
The master plan is the first phase of a comprehensive development strategy for AlUla, overseen by the Royal Commission for AlUla.
As part of the master plan, the five districts spread over a 20-km heart area of Alaula will operate in a way that is “Journey Through Time”. Museums, galleries and cultural centers will be part of the master plan, which will serve as landmarks in each district.
