3 killed, dozens trapped in building collapse in Uganda’s capital Kampala


At least three people have been killed and dozens are left stranded after an under-construction building collapsed in the Ugandan capital Kampala.

So far three bodies have been pulled out of the rubble after the building collapsed and collapsed in Kiseni in Kampala area on Sunday, according to a statement from the Uganda Red Cross Society. The process of evacuating those trapped under the rubble is on.” At least dozens of people are still feared trapped under the rubble, according to the humanitarian agency. The Red Cross, Ugandan Police and Fire Department have deployed response teams to support the rescue and search efforts.

The Red Cross has deployed emergency rescue teams and two ambulances operating in Kiseni, near the bus terminal, where an under-construction building collapsed, the statement said.
