Tata Motors is set to launch the long-range version of the Nexon EV by April. The main attraction of the EV is the bigger battery pack, which will enable it to deliver more range than the older Nexon EV. As the launch nears, more details about the car’s features have come to the fore. The long-range Nexon EV will get additional features like ventilated seats. Apart from this, a range of more than 400 km can be found.
New Features of Tata Nexon EV
The upcoming Tata Nexon EV is likely to get a host of features such as cruise control, ventilated seats and park mode. Tata may also include air-purifiers. On the security front, it may also get the Electronic Stability Program (ESP). Additionally, the Nexon is now also offered with the Royal Blue paint shade.
Tata Motors is working on the long-range Nexon EV. A test drive of this EV was seen in February. The biggest update on the long-range Nexon EV will be a bigger 40kWh battery pack. This is 30 percent more than the current model’s 30.2kWh. Tata Motors will change the floor plan of the Nexon EV for a bigger battery pack.
Large battery packs result in much more. It is claimed that the current Nexon gives a range of 312 km. In this case, the updated model is expected to have a range of more than 400 km. Another major upgrade could be a powerful charger. The Nexon EV could come with a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger.
Currently, the Nexon EV is available with a 3.3kW AC charger. Which takes about 10 hours to charge the battery. The Nexon EV is also expected to get a select Regen mode, which will allow the driver to adjust the intensity of regenerative braking, thereby improving the range.
