People have been accused of marketing Halal meat to BCCI and since Tuesday morning the hashtag #BCCI Promotions Halal is trending on social media. Some BJP spokespersons have also criticized the BCCI on the subject. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Goyal said in a tweet that BCCI should not promote Halal. In another tweet, he said that BCCI should remember that it is in India, not Pakistan.
Dear @BCCI, Say No To Halal. India is a Secular Democratic Country, not an Islamic Country.

Dear @BCCI, Say no to Halal. India is a secular democratic country, not an Islamic country.
The first test between India and New Zealand has arrived in Kanpur. Even before the trial began, details about the food menu surfaced. This meal keeps pork and beef separate. Non-vegetarian dishes will include Halal meat. Some Twitter users argued that since halal meat is only necessary for Muslims, it should not be made mandatory for all Indian players. Some Twitter users believe that BCCI is putting the country in danger by taking this decision.
