Kolkata. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday lashed out at the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal for not allow ing slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Shah said that Mamata didi gets annoyed if someone shouts Jai Shri Ram as a political slogan in Bengal. He also said that Banerjee treats people like criminals if they shout Jai Shri Ram. Amit Shah said, “Is this an insult to him?” While so many people take pride in this, the Chief Minister of Bengal feels humiliated. This is because she wants to appeal to a particular community to maintain her vote bank politics. ” He said, “I want to ask them if people from other communities do not vote for them in the state?”
The Home Minister said, “The atmosphere inside Bengal made it so that speaking Jai Shri Ram is a crime. Oh Mamta didi, will Jai Shri Ram not be spoken in Bengal, will it be spoken in Pakistan? He said this during a rally starting the Parivartan Yatra in Cooch Behar district.

Shah will also visit Thakurnagar in North 24-Parganas to address a rally there in the evening. He reached Guwahati on Wednesday night. Shah met Anant Roy, head of the Greater Cooch Behar People’s Association (GCPA) in Chirang district of Assam on Thursday. He said that Banerjee is only focused on making his nephew Abhishek Banerjee the next Chief Minister of West Bengal.
Shah said, “Had Dilip not been Ghosh, she would have announced it long ago. But she is scared now. I would urge people to choose Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development campaign and dismiss Mamata’s destructive politics this time. ” She said, “She constantly fights from the center. I want to ask you whether this will help in bringing development in Bengal? ”
Union Minister Shah said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) visit is aimed at ending the corrupt Trinamool government in West Bengal.
