Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will present the budget of Rajasthan in the Legislative Assembly on February 24. The budget of the Gehlot government, which was targeted for health services during Kovid’s time, is expected to focus on ‘first happiness and a healthy body’. The Chief Minister may increase the budget for the health sector. The cost of 15 medical colleges in the state has been estimated at 5 thousand crores. On the other hand, due to corona (COVID-19) in the state, vaccination work has to be done on a large scale.

In this case, if the burden of free immunization of children and the elderly falls on the state, an additional Rs. In the state budget presented by the Chief Minister on February 20, 2020, a provision of Rs 14 thousand 533 crore 37 lakh was made for all departments related to medicine and health. In the last budget, the Chief Minister had focused on a healthy Rajasthan launched in the year 2019. Its budget for a healthy Rajasthan was Rs 100 crore. This time it can be doubled. 15 new medical colleges are to be opened in the state.

If the government issues funds for 5 of these colleges for 2021-22, then a provision of Rs 700 crore should be made for 40% share. The cost of 15 medical colleges is estimated to be around Rs 5000 crore. It is proposed to set up Government Homoeopathic Colleges in Ajmer and Jodhpur. It is likely to cost Rs 18 crore. The central government has proposed 15 of the total 75 new medical colleges in the country in Rajasthan alone. Medical colleges will be opened in various districts of Rajasthan in Dausa, Tonk, Sawaimadhopur, Jhunjhunu, Bundi, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand and Hanumangarh.

The state government has also allotted land for some medical colleges and the process for others is underway. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot may also announce the recruitment of medical personnel in the budget. There was a severe shortage of medical personnel in the Corona epidemic. In the budget, it is possible to announce recruitment for the posts of General Nursing, Midwife, Assistant Nurse Midwife, Doctor, Nurse and Lab Technician for better operation of health services. The government will also need financial resources to meet last year’s announcements.
