Uttarakhand. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat and State Congress Committee President Pritam Singh met Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Friday at the Chief Minister’s residence. On this occasion, he discussed with the Chief Minister the relief and rescue operations being conducted in connection with the disaster in Raini area of Joshimath. Chief Minister Trivendra said that relief and rescue operations are going on fast in the affected areas. NTPC’s tunnel is taking longer time to remove due to overflowing of faeces. Responsibilities have been given to different forces and officers to speed up relief and rescue operations. The Central Government is also getting full support of the state in rescue and relief work in this disaster. Handled by the soldiers at risk, arrived on time and handled the situation. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India is also under constant review of relief operations.
Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat lauded the efforts made by Chief Minister Trivendra for relief and rescue operations after the disaster in the Raini region, and said that the speed with which the Chief Minister directed all concerned relief teams and departments to take quick action The extent has been controlled. He also appreciated the efforts of the Chief Minister for providing timely assistance to the disaster victims.
On receiving the information of the disaster, the Chief Minister visited the affected areas and took stock of the situation. He also appreciated the efforts of the Army, ITBP and NDRF teams along with the government, district administration and SDRF for helping the victims in this disaster. People are also relieved by the rescue teams arriving soon in the affected areas for relief and rescue operations. He said that prompt action in disasters has good effect in the society. All the people are with the government at this time of crisis.
Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat gave a six-point memorandum in this regard to Chief Minister Trivendra. He suggested that displacement of people of the affected areas be made. It is also necessary to get to the bottom of the causes of this disaster, so that such an incident does not happen again in future. He also suggested to conduct safety audit of various projects of the state.
