Memorial will be built in memory of former Chief Minister Sanjivaiah: Pawan Kalyan


Hyderabad: Actor-politician and Jana Sena Party founder-president Pawan Kalyan has said that he will convert his residence into a memorial in memory of the services rendered by former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh Damodaram Sanjivaiah. For this, a fund of Rs 1 crore will be set up. The actor recalled that he had served as the CM for only two years, and had done a lot for the benefit of the poor of the state. He said that the former CM had distributed six lakh acres of land on the outskirts of Hyderabad during his tenure.

“It was Sanjeevaiah who introduced pension for old people and physically handicapped people. PK also said that Sanjeevaiah had included the Boya and Kapu communities in the list of BCs. In his tweet, he wrote some pictures of Sanjeevaiah’s residence. Posted pictures. Damodaram Sanjeevayya (14 February 1921 – 8 May 1972) was an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 11 January 1960 to 12 March 1962. Dalit was the chief minister.

He started the office of Anti-Corruption Bureau {ACB}, he completed irrigation projects like Gazuladin in Kurnool district. His statue was erected in front of the public garden at Nampally, Hyderabad. Sanjeevaiah Park, a park located on the banks of Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad, was named in his honour. His grave is also located inside the park. Damodaram Sanjeevaiah National Law University, Visakhapatnam, one of the premier legal institutions of the country, is named in his honour. India Post issued a commemorative postage stamp (INR 5.00) in his honor on 14 February 2008.
