Maruti Suzuki To Launch Numbers Of Electric Cars Company CEO Revealed Planning
Understanding the future of electric cars, all the car companies are engaged in manufacturing electric cars. The country’s largest car company Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is also preparing to launch electric cars. However, currently no electric vehicle of the company is in the market.
The company plans to launch the first electric vehicle model in 2025. It is also looking at manufacturing electric vehicles in its factories in future as the demand for EVs increases in the country. The first EV model will be manufactured at Suzuki Motor’s Gujarat plant.
The company’s new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hisashi Takeuchi said, “We have lagged behind our competitors in terms of launching EV models in the Indian market, however, the demand for EVs in the market is limited.” He said, “Actually, the sales of electric vehicles in the Indian market are still very limited.” Hisashi Takeuchi said, “But that does not mean that we are not doing anything about EVs.
He said, “We have been testing EVs with our existing models for over a year now. This test is being done in accordance with the Indian environment to ensure that our EV technology is environmentally friendly in India. Takeuchi said that the company will launch the first electric vehicle in 2025 and then several models will be launched one after the other.
He said that electric vehicles are very expensive and it is very difficult to make affordable electric vehicles with current technology. Asked if this means that the company’s first EV will not be priced below Rs 10 lakh, Takeuchi said, “I can’t give you a clear answer, but it will cost less while remaining competitive on the cost front.” It is very difficult to get an expensive electric vehicle. The reason for this is the cost of the battery.
